Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam

Dear Friends,

With utmost grief i am sharing this post on our great leader Dr APJ Abdul Kalam -A man who taught many of us to Dream passed away y'day.

Dr Kalam's address to students in our college in 2002 made a drastic change in me. He built the confidence and courage in the minds of youth in India.

A small tribute from me for my great hero who made me to think and dream about me.

A quilled tribute to Dr Abdul kalam. The word which he left for us and bid bye to this nation.

Some of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's Inspiring quotes are below

  1. “You have to dream before your dreams can come true.”
  2. “Don’t take rest after your first victory because if you fail in second, more lips are waiting to say that your first victory was just luck.”
  3.  “All Birds find shelter during a rain. But Eagle avoids rain by flying above the Clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference.”
  4. “Man needs difficulties in life because they are necessary to enjoy the success.”
  5.  “One of the very important characteristics of a student is to question. Let the students ask questions.”
  6. “It is very easy to defeat someone, but it is very hard to win someone.”
  7.  “Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work.”
  8.  “Be more dedicated to making solid achievements than in running after swift but synthetic happiness.”
  9.  “Thinking should become your capital asset, no matter whatever ups and downs you come across in your life.”
  10. “Without your involvement you can’t succeed. With your involvement you can’t fail.
The words of Dr Abdul Kalam from one of his recent lecture which i read again and again are below

"To be remembered for, you have to be unique, Unique You"

"The challenge, my young friends, is that you have to fight the hardest battle, which any human being can ever imagine to fight; and never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place, that is, a UNIQUE YOU! Friends what will be your tools to fight this battle, what are they: have a great aim in life, continuously acquire the knowledge, work hard and persevere to realize the great achievement."

Thanks Sir for being inspirational to many of us. A great Salute to you from all our hearts.

Tutorial No line coloring technique

Hi Friends,

This month at Catchy challenge we have an interesting challenge. It is No line coloring technique.
CSCC #16 - No Line Coloring
(You can use any medium to color your images!)

Here is the step by step tutorial for No line coloring.

Step 1:
Stamp your image using a light colored ink.For my creations today, I used "Penny Black Petal Party" stamp set, Ranger "tea dye" Distress ink and Faber castel Water colour pencils.I have created a woody texture using score board and distress inks

Step 2:
Now colour the inside portion with light colour and edges with dark colour water colour pencils.I have done only with light colour.

Step 3:
Take a fine-tipped paint brush and some water and begin applying the water from inside out on your image.

Step 4:
Allow your image to dry and use it on your card as you wish.

My final card I created is here. Added pearls and hand written sentiment.

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Handmade Buddha wall decor

Dear Friends,

This month at Indian Quilling Challenge Group, we have Ombre / Monochromatic as the challenge.

I had done this handmade buddha artwork for my new home. I have used 75 Nos of 3mm quilled strips and crimped and rolled it form a circle behind buddha. Outlined Buddha is hand drawn.

I like his teachings and following it to the maximum. The four noble truth of Buddha - Which everyone should accept.

The Four Noble Truths
1. There is Suffering Suffering is common to all.
2. Cause of Suffering We are the cause of our suffering.
3. End of Suffering Stop doing what causes suffering.
4. Path to end Suffering Everyone can be enlightened.

May Lord Buddha bless you with Peace.
